So here we are. After spending many hours writing, editing, formatting and proofreading, I’ve released an anthology of horror short stories. These stories have been around for as long as my writing on this platform began. You probably have read one or several of them as I posted them on my blog over these past three years. These stories have grown with me, changed and evolved into the final product I published yesterday. I’m working on a trailer for the book, and a marketing campaign, so there’s much more fun ahead of us. But I thought I’d give you the heads up, because why wait?
I’m proud of this book. This is my baby. From beginning to end, I’ve been in charge. Today, I’m proud to say I’m an indie author, who lives by the rules of self-publishing. I didn’t always think that way. I thought I needed a publisher, someone to take care of the logistics while I took care of the writing. Learning the logistics appeared to be not so complicated. And for the first time, I didn’t have to wait on someone else to release my work onto the world. I could do it all by myself. And I did. I spent a lot of time perfecting the words, molding them into what they were supposed to be: the perfect little key to the door of your imagination. On this 4th of July, this country is celebrating independence. Freedom from oppression, freedom from control. I like to be free. I like to work hard and produce the best work I can without constraints.
So this is my gift to you, my dear readers. I hope you’ll enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed perfecting it for you. More is to come. Much much more.
